Studio Policy

Tuition is calculated based on a 41-lesson calendar year (37 lessons during the school year and 4 in the summer), and the total is divided equally across 12 months. Please note that some months may have fewer lessons, while others may have more.

Tuition is due in advance, no later than the first week of each month. If you will not be present at the first lesson of the month, please make your payment the week before it is due. Accepted payment methods include cash, personal checks, Zelle, and Venmo.

Late payments affects the instructor’s personal budgeting and scheduling. To ensure payments are received on time, a $20 late fee will be applied to any tuition received after the 10th of the month. This fee should be paid together with the late tuition payment; otherwise, it will be added to the following month’s payment.

Tuition

Regular attendance at lessons is a matter of responsibility and commitment on the part of both parents and students. Each student is allowed up to two rescheduled private lessons per year. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for any absences, except in the case of illness.

If a student cannot attend a scheduled make-up lesson, it cannot be rescheduled again. Occasionally, the teacher may need to reschedule or miss a lesson, Any lessons missed by the teacher will be made up. There is a seven-week period during the summer when lessons missed during the school year will be rescheduled. For the safety of all and due to the difficulty of rescheduling an entire day of lessons, if AISO cancels classes due to inclement weather, the studio will also close for the day, and no makeups will be offered.

Tardiness: Please be on time! If a student arrives late, the lesson will end at the scheduled time so as not to delay the next student’s lesson.

Attendance

Holidays

No lessons will be taught during the following breaks:

  • Thanksgiving: November 24 - 28

  • Winter Break: December 22 - January 2

  • Spring Break: March 16-20 (dates may vary each year based on the AISD calendar)

It is important for students to maintain their musical progress throughout the year. During the summer, the schedule will be more flexible to accommodate family vacations and other special activities. lesson times will be arranged in coordination with the teacher.

Each student is expected to take at least four lessons during June and July. These lessons may be spread out or condensed. Students may choose to complete all four lessons within two or three weeks, which provides an excellent opportunity to focus on special projects and make significant progress during the summer.
